Did you Know?
Of the 26 impoverished countries that have received some relief of their debts, 19 are still spending more to pay back old loans than on provifing health care.

Average annual debt payments by the 24 countries which have begun to receive some debt relief are being reduced by a mere 27 percent. This leaves these
22 countries still spending more repaying debts than they currently spend on fighting AIDS and providing basic healthcare.

Cameroon, Uganda, Malawi, and Guyana have all used partial
debt relief to help finance AIDS prevention and care programs, saving lives and easing suffering.
